Bird Sightings

Thanks to a partnership with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society, you can find out what birds have been seen at Quinta Mazatlan in McAllen, Texas.

After visitors go on the trails, they can enter their sightings into eBird TRAIL TRACKER (at our onsite kiosk or home computer). The bird observations are downloaded into a Western Hemispheric database and maintained by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology in New York State. The observations of birders can make a valuable contribution to understanding broad-scale patterns, distributions and bird populations. A simple and intuitive web-interface engages tens of thousands of participants to submit their observations into the eBird database. A birder simply enters when, where, and how they went birding, then fills out a checklist of all the birds seen and heard during the outing.

For birding news and features visit www.ebird.org.

THANK YOU for taking the time to submit your observations and contributing to citizen science.
