A festival to celebrate the arrival of the Monarch Butterflies, with crafts, nature presentations, butterfly garden information, music, art, food, and fun!

On-going-

  • Art Installation "Wings in the Wind" by Sarah Thomas
  • Little Butterfly Activities (for your tots) Photos with "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" Character Reading & Craft by the McAllen Public Library Educational Toy Center by Lakeshore Learning
  • Butterfly Garden Tours (leaves every 30 minutes) Urban Ecologist John Brush & Botanist Silvia Barr

MONARCH STAGE NORTH LAWN

  • 10:15 a.m.- Symbols of Hope Dance by Las Palmas Folklorico
  • 11:00 a.m.- Welcome Mayor Darling
  • 11:15 a.m.- Bug Parade- led by Mayor Darling, Drumline, Characters including the Caterpillar, McGruff, Sparky and all the children dressed as their favorite insect!
  • 11:30 a.m., 12:00, 12:30 p.m.- Dance of the Butterflies by Deborah Case Dance Academy
  • 1:00 p.m.- Native American Butterfly Dance by the Bear Clan
  • 1:30 p.m.- Recycled Walking Art Show by UTRGV
  • 2:00 p.m.- Magician Show by Oscar Munoz
