Meeting new people
Making use of personal talents

Having fun!

Volunteer Opportunities

Educational Programs
Share the wonders of nature with families, school groups and eco-tourists. Volunteers, in coordination with staff, plan, develop and lead education programs from History to Nature Tours.

Interpretive “scripts” and “visuals” assist the volunteers in the delivery of walks and talks! Quinta Mazatlan offers a variety of programs for the public and depends on volunteers to assist in the delivery of such programs.

“Morning Stroll Through History” In and Around the House - Script & visuals assist volunteers
“Woodland Walkabout” on the Trails - Script & visuals assist volunteers
“Family Excursions” - Assist in development and delivery of programs
Nature Walk Guide
Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts & Other Youth Groups - Assist in development and delivery of programs

Conservation, Construction, Trails and Grounds
Do you like to be outdoors? Then, come out and help at Quinta Mazatlan.

Bird Feeder Monitor - Maintain and fill bird feeding stations and hummingbird feeders
Trail Monitor - Maintain and enhance the trails. Assist and recommend interpretive opportunities along the trail including plant signs, seating areas and more. Help design the trails so they assist our visitors in opportunities to enjoy and discover nature.
Garden Monitor - Maintain and enhance gardens to attract wildlife. Specialty gardens include a Native Butterfly Garden, Tropical Butterfly Garden, Hummingbird Lane, and Pond Plantings.

Administrative
Share your unique skills! Volunteers can provide professional or technical skills such as photography, poster making, writing, computer programming, gift store decorating, organizing, greeting and more.

Citizen Science
Help unravel some of nature’s mysteries! Volunteers have opportunities to assist in collecting information on birds that are seen on the property. The information is provided to science organizations, eco-tourists and daily visitors. Walk the trails at a time that is convenient to you (and the birds) and help us document this important information.

Bird Monitor - Daily/Weekly Bird Observations for Tex-BIRDS, E-BIRD and Quinta Mazatlan Web site Postings
